College Counseling (Transitional Support)
At Life Changes Group, we specialize in supporting college and university students at they make the significant transition into and away from scholastic life. Recognizing the increased prevalence of anxiety, depression, and other psychiatric conditions among university students, our doctoral-level staff is trained in models of behavioral therapy specifically designed to support young people as they navigate the hurdles of academics, relationships, athletics, socializing, and feelings about being away from home. We also understand the justifiable worries of parents as they send their children to college and surrender the comfort and control of watching them develop first hand. Through our position in the communities, we have partnered with counseling programs at major universities, including Harvard University, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Boston College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Lesley University to offer supplemental, often longer-term care, to support college students through the duration of their education and beyond. We have also endeavored to go in-network with insurance providers at these institutions, including Blue Cross Blue Shield and United Health Care Student Resources, to ensure that the costs remain low for our students. We understand the lives and challenges of college students and have recruited practitioners who have backgrounds in college counseling programs.
If you are a college student and have concerns, or a parent looking for distant support, please contact us by completing our brief intake form. One of our trained therapists will contact you to make an appointment immediately.
